Glastonbury is coming - be prepared!!!

The festival season is finally upon us. Some of you, lucky bastards, are polishing your wellies and counting down the days.
Glastonbury is just over a month away.
I envy those of you who got their hands on the precious tickets. I will miss the music, the excitement, drinking, partying until dawn. I will miss the smelly toilets and even, to some extent, I will miss the mud.

Liebster Award nomination!

Tipsy Nomads and C'ing the World have nominated me for the Liebster Awards. I'm really honored and feel appreciated. The award is given out by fellow bloggers to help people discover other travel writers.

Some photos from Myanmar

This post will close the Myanmar series. I hope you enjoyed it. I'm moving to tell you more about Laos.
Here you will see some of my favorite photos from the country, along with some stories, anecdotes and more information.

I have been to Myanmar and this is what I know!

Remember this post? It made quite a stir and lots of people got back to me, saying that a few things were not correct. I spent 17 days in the country and lots of things surprised me in a positive way. Because there are not much information on the net about the situation in Myanmar and how it is to travel around there, I decided to publish yet another post with some tips. This time everything is checked and tried by me and you can fully rely on the information you are going to read.

Confessions of the Blond

Some of you have noticed that I came back in March and on my blog I am still in Myanmar (this makes me happy, because at least some of you are paying attention). My neglect doesn't come from laziness, it is caused by some recent events in my life and this is what's happening.

Monkeys, 777 steps and a taxi driver called Jelly Fish - a day on Mount Popa

Mount Popa is one of the holiest places in the whole of Myanmar. It is a volcano, which peak reaches 1518 meters above the sea level. Located 50 km from Bagan it can be reached by road in around 1 hour. The monastery, located on the top of the mountain hides one of the most fascinating places in Burma.

The best place to eat around Bagan

Some people might not agree with me, but I found that Burmese food is not the best in the world. It is tasty, there's a great variety of curries and noodles, but to me it was never spicy enough, or had too much cabbage, or was just bland. I was thrilled when I found a lot of restaurants with food from around the world in Nyaung Oo (2 km from Old Bagan), and this little restaurant is my top choice.
